A degassing station is being built at a landfill in Odessa. Burned gas will be converted into electricity
The construction of a degassing station has started at the only working solid manufacture waste landfill Dalnitsky quarries in Odessa.
The project with a total cost of more than 100 million euros is being handled by the local authorities together with the investor company Clear Energy – last week, a capsule was laid at the construction site, reports Dumskaya.
“During the first stage, we will get methane gas from the landfill body and burn it. A 3 MW power plant, the largest in Ukraine, will be installed here, and we will sell the electricity generated in this way to the network according to the green tariff,” informed Roman Mykytchyk, Deputy Director of the company.
The next stage of the project will be the construction of a plant for sorting and processing municipal waste, and then the complex will continue with energy recovery from waste.
It should be reminded that an online platform for air quality monitoring has been launched earlier in Kyiv. Air sampling is carried out daily. It is analyzed by eight indicators: formaldehyde (CH2O), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O₂), carbon dioxide (CO₂), air temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure.
