Renewable energy in Ukraine: a chance for the country and a priority for the EU in the context of decentralization and European integration
Ukraine has enormous potential to become a strategic partner of the European Union in the field of green energy. Significant natural resources, low population density, and geographical scale create unique conditions for large-scale development of renewable energy sources - from wind and solar energy to biomethane and hydrogen. This potential will not only contribute to Ukraine's energy security but also strengthen the resilience of the EU energy system.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Clear Energy Group Petro Bagriy received the special award "Person of the Year 2024"
On May 1, 2025, the 29th annual "Person of the Year-2024" awards ceremony took place. This year's program, symbolically titled "Country of Heroes. Worthy of Glory!", was dedicated to every Ukrainian whose courage, resilience, and self-sacrifice have become a shield for the state during the war.

How the degassing station in Dnipro works
One of the biggest environmental problems in Ukraine is frequent fires at landfills. They are caused by methane that forms in the landfills. This problem can be avoided. What’s more, landfill gas can be useful.
In Dnipro, a 1 MW biogas power plant has been operating at the Right Bank solid waste landfill since last November. "Enerho Sich" LLC, which built and operates it, is part of the "Clear Energy" group of companies.

Current status of Smart City in Ukraine and the world
The Smart City system is a global trend that dates back to 2009. It aims to create a comfortable, safe, and convenient environment for residents with the help of modern technologies and innovative solutions. Find out how this concept is being implemented in Ukraine, what difficulties stand in the way of its development, and how you can support the reconstruction of our country.
What is a Smart City and what does the system look like around the world?
Today, there are more than 2,500 cities in the world that have implemented elements of the Smart City concept. The main goal of such cities is to improve the quality of life of residents through economic, social, and environmental sustainability.

Electric revolution on Ukrainian roads: EV market surpasses 160 thousand cars
The era of electric vehicles in Ukraine is no longer the future—it's the present. Ukrainians are increasingly choosing ecological and economical transport, and statistics confirm this trend. As of June 2025, according to official data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of registered electric cars in Ukraine has exceeded 160,000.
This number is especially impressive when you consider that since the beginning of this year alone, the Ukrainian vehicle fleet has been supplemented with over 37,000 zero-emission cars. Let's look at what is driving this market and what prospects it opens up.

The award has found a hero! Clear Energy received this year's ECOtransformation-2020 award!
This is the main award in the field of ecology, founded by the Professional Association of Ecologists of Ukraine. It is awarded for a significant contribution to environmental protection. Our Chernihiv project—a CHP plant on wood chips—was nominated. It is the first in Ukraine to use biomass gasification technology. The thermal power plant runs on waste from the woodworking industry. It has a high efficiency and produces practically no harmful emissions. The electricity is supplied to the general grid, and the thermal energy is used for hot water supply in one of Chernihiv's districts. At the same time, the cost of thermal energy is 25% lower than from natural gas.
The Ukrainian gasifier is a development of our company. The equipment shows high efficiency and has a waste-free production cycle.

Work safely and efficiently: a training seminar was held at Biogas Energy
A seminar for engineering and technical workers on compliance with the requirements of legislative and regulatory acts on labor protection was held at Biohaz Enerdzhi LLC. The event was attended by the chief state inspector of the Department of Supervision in Mechanical Engineering and Energy of the State Labor Service in the Khmelnytskyi region, Dmytro Fiut, and the company's energy engineer, Yevhen Okulyk. Chief State Inspector Dmytro Fiut informed the attendees about injuries in the energy sector. He analyzed industrial injuries and drew attention to compliance with organizational and technical measures for the safe performance of work

Demand for electric vehicle batteries continues to grow worldwide
Electric vehicle (EV) sales accelerated in 2021 and have remained high since. In 2022, EV sales exceeded 10 million units. Overall, 14% of all new cars sold were electric in 2022, compared to about 9% in 2021 and less than 5% in 2020.
However, supporting the future of electric vehicles requires greater efforts to diversify the production of batteries and critical mineral sources. In the short term, the most significant obstacles to consistently high EV sales are the rising cost of several important minerals needed for battery production, as well as supply chain bottlenecks caused by Russia's war against Ukraine.

Energy: the move towards decentralized grids
Russian missile strikes have destroyed almost half of Ukraine's energy infrastructure—a highly centralized grid consisting of large-scale nuclear, coal, and gas plants, many of which are located in the country's conflict zones. Reconstructing these plants could take years.
The Ukrainian government recently announced that building a decentralized and diversified energy system—one that would be more resilient in the face of military attacks or natural disasters and capable of enhancing energy security while promoting a transition to renewable energy sources (RES)—will be a primary goal and priority moving forward. This also points to Ukraine's untapped potential for solar and wind energy and other renewable sources, such as biomass and hydropower.
